I've admired John Kindervag for a long time. I mean, the guy invented Zero Trust. "Never trust, always verify" isn't just a framework—it's basically how I approach everything now (I practically Zero Trust our grocery list these days).
So when I reached out to ask if he'd write the foreword for "Agentic AI + Zero Trust," I was honestly prepared for a polite no. The man's busy reinventing security.
He said yes.
When Michelle and I sat down with him to talk about agentic AI and security, he said something that really resonated with me: "Nobody really knows what AI is yet. We're at the cooing stage of AI, not even the talking stage. We're all making educated guesses about where this technology will take us."
The cooing stage. Yes.
Think about it—everyone's acting like we've got AI figured out, but we're really just making baby noises at each other. And in six months? The agentic AI landscape will most likely look completely different than it does today.
But here's what won't change: the need for solid security foundations. That's why I had to get this book out now.
Every business leader has an important choice right now. Wait and see what happens with AI (while our competitors race ahead). Or step back and say, "I'm going in with a security-first mindset from day one."
That's where Zero Trust comes in. It's not the latest shiny tool. It's the foundation everything else gets built on. John gets that. And after reading his foreword, you'll get it too.
We're all in the cooing stage together. Might as well learn to coo securely.
